Martin Lings, also known as Abû Bakr Sâdiq Lings, was a British author, scholar, and expert in Islamic studies. Born in 1909 in Staffordshire, England, Lings was educated at Oxford University, where he developed a deep interest in Islamic mysticism and Arabic literature. He converted to Islam in 1938 and went on to write extensively on Islamic topics, including the biography of Prophet Muhammad.
